A PLAYLINK conference in partnership with Stirling Council.

By looking at the real life issues and areas of confusion, ‘Risk it!’ will give you the knowledge and confidence to help you create engaging play areas that are full of interest and challenge.

Professor David Ball, co-author of just published HSE endorsed Managing Risk in Play Provision: implementation guide.

Harry Harbottle, co-author of a guide to the European Standard for the Safety of Playground Equipment

Sue Gutteridge, responsible for Stirling’s groundbreaking play spaces

Kathleen Marshall, Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People

Chaired by Bernard Spiegal, Principal, PLAYLINK.

The conference includes an opportunity to learn about and undertake an on-site ‘risk-benefit assessment’ recommended in Managing Risk in Play Provision: implementation guide.

An unparalled opportunity to learn about the theory and practice informing Stirling's approach to the design and maintenance of spaces for play.

The Study Tour demonstrates just what can be done – linking theory to practice – based on a proven track record of dealing with the policy and practice realities on the ground.

The three study tours thus far undertaken have received an enthusiastic response from each participant. Participants include: play officers; landscape architects; Pathfinders and Playbuilders, parks officers; children services and children's centre managers; those responsible for fixed equipment playgrounds.
