Conference:
Risk it! Changing public play spaces
Friday 20th February 2009, Stirling
Speakers:
Professor David Ball, co-author of just published HSE endorsed Managing Risk in Play Provision: implementation guide.
Harry Harbottle, co-author of a guide to the European Standard for the Safety of Playground Equipment
Sue Gutteridge, responsible for Stirling’s groundbreaking play spaces
Kathleen Marshall, Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People
Chaired by Bernard Spiegal, Principal, PLAYLINK.
The conference includes an opportunity to learn about and undertake an on-site ‘risk-benefit asessment’ recommended in Managing Risk in Play Provision: implementation guide.
By looking at the real life issues and areas of confusion, ‘Risk it!’ will give you the knowledge and confidence to help you create engaging play areas that are full of interest and challenge.
Delegates: aimed particularly at people who manage, maintain or design unsupervised, open access public play areas; also of interest to people who manage, maintain or design other outdoor settings where children play.
Panel session: we will be examining real life difficulties in providing challenge in public play areas. Delegates will have the opportunity to submit their own case studies for discussion.
Cost: £190.00 + VAT @ 15%
