  Although my earlier letter answered the points you raise, I will take this opportunity to reiterate the rationale for the programme timetable. As you know, the play sector has been waiting a long time for this funding.

  We believe that it is right in principle that the type of questions we raised should be placed in the public domain. Openness brings its own rewards, contributing to the establishment of trust-based relationships - particularly important in the context of the children’s play programme upon which so many hopes rest.
